To get into Medical School…

No matter what time of year it is, most people already forget what goals they set last year.

Everyone is really ambitious and yet, I bet they still procrastinate and watch TV instead of getting closer to accomplishing their dreams.

So what are you going to accomplish this year?

What is in your deck of cards?

Everyone asks how to get into Medical School?

The response is always, “How bad do you want it?”

They say they dream about it, yet when push comes to shove, they do not want to put in the work.

No matter what time of year it is, this is the most important time in your life!

If you want to get into Medical School, this is the time where you get ahead. This is the time where you set yourself apart from other applicants.

The two reasons this is the best time to get ahead:

1: Experience: No matter where you are applying you have months before your application is due. While that seems like a long way off, have you read through the application? Do they require you to shadow a physician? Do they ask you about relevant work experience or leadership experience? Maybe you have none! This is the time to get that experience in. You have to use these months, to prepare yourself to be the best applicant. If you send in an application with areas that are blank, imagine how that will look to an application committee?

2. Standardized Testing: Whether it is the SAT/GRE/or MCAT chances are you scheduled it for the next 3-7 months. While it may seem far off, studying over a longer period of time is guaranteed to bring you success. I guarantee I have taken more standardized tests than anyone and this is the time to make a difference in your test score. Not 3 weeks before your test, the time is NOW.

So what is your plan for tomorrow…

Are you going to sit by and wait for things to happen. Are you going to pray you have done enough? Or are you going to grab your life in your own hands and make sure you are prepared more than anyone else who is applying?

Keep it up!

You can do this!
